Way of Remembering 2027

Scholarship Assistance

Limited support toward the $2,500 program fee and $1,500 reserved airfare — for participants who will also carry the Way of Remembering into their campus or community.

Funds are limited and awarded first-come, first-served among applicants who meet program requirements, subject to available funds and committee review. Scholarships are finalized only for participants whose round-trip travel is paid in full through Prometra or independently secured and verifiable.

Priority scholarship applications should be submitted by September 1, 2026. Prometra plans to communicate priority decisions by approximately September 15, 2026, so recipients know what balance remains before the airfare deadline.

October 1, 2026 remains the participant deadline for any remaining $1,500 reserved airfare balance needed to secure one of the 50 group airfare seats. November 1, 2026 is the deadline for the full $2,500 program fee, unless an approved scholarship covers all or part of it.

How scholarship support works.

Scholarship support is limited. Awards may be partial or full depending on available funds, and applying does not guarantee an award. Recipients remain responsible for any balance a scholarship does not cover.

Funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis among applicants who meet program requirements — subject to available funds and Scholarship Committee review. Applying early helps, but it does not create an automatic approval.

Before an award can be finalized, a participant must also have paid the Prometra reserved group airfare in full, or have independently secured round-trip flight arrangements that Prometra staff can verify.

Scholarship recipients must also serve as a Way of Remembering Campus or Community Ambassador and participate in recruitment and community outreach.

The Ambassador Commitment

Campus Fellows & Community Ambassadors.

The Way of Remembering Campus Fellows / Ambassador program is the foundation of our recruitment strategy. Ambassadors serve as campus and community builders and program advocates: they host or support events, recruit participants, promote the program, and help create a scalable recruitment pipeline.

Because the 2027 timeline is compressed before payment deadlines, the recruitment requirement has been shortened. A scholarship recipient must work toward and document at least ONE of the three pathways below. These are alternatives — you do not need to complete all three.

10

Qualified leads

Prospective participants for whom you give Prometra a usable phone number and/or email address for follow-up.

5

Referrals

People who complete the Way of Remembering interest or registration form and name you as the person who referred them.

3

Registered participants

Referred participants who complete registration AND make a deposit or payment toward the 2027 journey.

Complete any one of these three pathways — 10 leads or 5 referrals or 3 registered participants.

These are goals recipients agree to pursue in good faith. They are not guaranteed outcomes, not a condition of award repayment, and not three separate requirements.

Prometra may provide specific outreach assignments and tracking instructions, and ambassadors are expected to follow them and report their recruitment activity.

Before you apply

Scholarship applicant requirements.

  • Either pay the Prometra reserved group airfare in full, or independently secure round-trip flight arrangements that Prometra staff can verify, before a scholarship is finalized.
  • Participate in the online Way of Remembering curriculum and required preparation activities.
  • Serve as a Campus Ambassador if enrolled in school, or a Community Ambassador if not, unless Prometra assigns otherwise.
  • Participate actively in recruitment and outreach, and track recruitment activity as instructed.
  • Work in good faith toward — and document — at least ONE recruitment pathway: 10 qualified leads, OR 5 referrals, OR 3 registered participants who have made a deposit/payment.
  • Remain responsible for any portion of program or travel costs not covered by a scholarship.
  • Understand that funds are limited, that qualified applications are considered on a first-come, first-served basis subject to available funds and committee review, and that awards may be partial.
